Tuesday Karate class – 10/30/07 – More extreme kihon and test preparation!

Class was much like our class on Saturday.

We spent most of the time working on the kihon for our upcoming test.

I had a little harder time for some reason and had to get a drink about 30 minutes into the class.  My throat felt like it was full of cotton balls for some reason.  On a positive note, my side thrust kicks felt much better than usual.  All of the hip and core exercises must be starting to pay off.

Before class, I did 8 – Tekki Shodan.

Monday Karate workout – 10/29/07 – Kata and core.

8 – Tekki Shodan

2 x 15 – weighted side bends with 20 pound dumbbells.
2 x 12 – Glute bridge (3 second hold for each rep)
2 x 12 – lying side leg raises (3 second hold for each rep)

On my last two Tekki Shodan again, I held my horse stance while just working on the upper body movements for both kata. My horse stance felt a litte better tonight and a little lower after I was warmed up.
