Tuesday Karate class.

Very hard class again!

We started with low walks and push ups for our warmup. One person would do push ups while the other would do low walks across the gym and back. The we did the same thing but substituted the push ups for crunches.

Then, we went into kata. We started with show speed but perfect form, Heian Shodan, then right into Heian Nidan, then into Heian Sandan and finally into Heian Yondan. Then a full power, full speed Heian Shodan followed up with Heian Nidan. Next we did our own belt level kata.

We then moved into some basics. Side thrust kick to the side, then front snap kick then other leg front snap kick followed by side thrust kick. After that more kicks; front snap kick, side thrust kick, back kick, roundhouse kick followed up with reverse punch. More kicks with step forward roundhouse kicks and front snap kicks. Then we did inward block, elbow strike, back fist, reverse punch both forward and backward. Then backstance, knife hand block and spearhand.

We then did our own kata and then one-step blocking drill.

Class was very hard and my legs were extremely sore. At some points, I could not hold my stance because of the pain.

I like classes like these.
